first_imgApple is expected to launch the Apple iPhone XI consisting of the iPhone XIR, the iPhone XI and the iPhone XI Max in September this year. But even before the company unveils its 2019 iPhones, details about the company’s 2020 iPhone models – possibly iPhone 12 or iPhone XII – have already started doing rounds on the internet. Now, a new report suggests that Apple will use OLED displays by LG in its 2020 iPhones.Apple is said to ditch the LCD display in its 2020 iPhones and opt for expensive OLED displays in all its iPhone models scheduled for next year. Now a new report by a Korea-based news channel, ETNews, says that Apple is planning to include flexible OLED panels by LG in its 2020 iPhones. As per the report, the Korean tech giant will begin the mass production of its flexibled OLED panel in the third quarter of this year and it will supply the flexible OLED panels to some models of Apple’s 2020 iPhone models. In addition to this, LG is also expected to supply, in small quanities, flexible OLED panels to some iPhone models scheduled to be released later this year.As far as the 2020 iPhones are concerned, reports over the past couple of months have detailed a number of features – besides 5G connectivity — that will make it to the Cupertino, California based company’s phone next year. For starters, a report by DigiTimes earlier this month stated that Apple’s 2020 iPhones are likely to come with 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensors at the back. At present, the company users ToF sensors in the front, which are used for a varety of features such as face recognition and Animoji. Including ToF sensors at the back would increase the range of the phone’s rear camera and allow the device to measure an area up to 4.5 meters, which is longer than what Android phones can measure right now.advertisementA separate report by Ice Universe suggests that Apple may use displays with a refresh rate of 120GHz in its 2020 iPhones. Apple first offered refresh rates of up to 120GHz in its 12.5-inch iPad Pro models that featured ProMotion display.ALSO READ: | 2020 iPhones may come with a 3D ToF sensor at the backALSO READ: | 2020 iPhone may get 120Hz display like iPad Pro, Apple in talks with Samsung and LGALSO READ: | Apple will launch two 5G iPhones in 2020 with 5.4-inch, 6.7-inch OLED panel: Analystlast_img read more
