Bookies Matrix puts virtuals under the spotlight

The chart above shows the top suppliers in terms of unique sites supplied to.NB, we track domestically licensed sportsbetting sites plus a selection of international jurisdictions (eg, Malta & Gibraltar). We have not counted any casino-only sites where virtuals appear, nor have we counted keno-only virtuals products on sportsbetting sites. For these reasons, each supplier’s total customer list could far exceed what we have in our database.Looking at regional supply trends, we see Inspired Entertainment, Betradar and Global Bet leading the way in Europe, with Golden Race, Kiron Interactive and BetRadar leading across Africa.Of course, the number of customers that a supplier has is not always that relevant in isolation. The chart below shows the split of customers by tier for each of the major suppliers: Bookies Matrix puts virtuals under the spotlight !function(e,i,n,s){var t=”InfogramEmbeds”,d=e.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(“script”);o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=”https://e.infogram.com/js/dist/embed-loader-min.js”,d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,”infogram-async”);While this may suggest that the top three sports have similar importance, we understand that the story from a revenue perspective is far more nuanced, with soccer being dominant across most of Africa, and racing approaching parity in some European regions, somewhat driven by traditional retail popularity. What we find most interesting regarding sports coverage, is what is missing in the charts above. With the main four US sports rising in global betting relevance, it is somewhat surprising that only basketball has any real footprint in virtual sports, especially given that ice hockey, baseball and US football games are all available from at least one supplier. Given the structure of a game of baseball, with a steady flow of discrete events (‘at bats’ and ‘pitches’) – perfectly suited to a short form virtual betting game, we would expect this to change over the coming years, possibly triggered by wider regulatory acceptance of virtuals across US states. While not being the first supplier many would associate with virtual sports, Betradar tops our list in terms of number of sites serviced. Betradar’s virtuals product is competitive, however in our view, the quality of the graphics produced is exceeded by some of its competitors. We therefore believe its success is more related to its real sports data supply, with single integrations and commercial deals offered across real and virtual sport versions. !function(e,i,n,s){var t=”InfogramEmbeds”,d=e.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(“script”);o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=”https://e.infogram.com/js/dist/embed-loader-min.js”,d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,”infogram-async”);We suspect that the relatively high availability of motorsports and cycling is more to do with supplier coverage than it is to do with customer demand – it is easier to ‘reskin’ multiple versions of ‘racing’ sports than to create a new sport type from scratch, hence why these two versions are offered by the majority of suppliers. From a regional point of view, we see similar percentage availability for the top sports, with a higher variance on some of the lower sports, largely driven by supplier availability. 4th August 2020 | By contenteditor When major sports leagues were suspended as a result of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), some hoped virtual sports could help make up the shortfall. Email Address Topics: Casino & games Sports betting Video gaming When major sports leagues were suspended as a result of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), some hoped virtual sports could help make up the shortfall. Mark Israney of Bookies Matrix looks at how they were used by operators during this period. One of the interesting trends that emerged over the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) period was the rise to prominence of certain niche betting products such as esports and virtual sports. The reason for this growth is obvious – with a lack of ‘real’ sporting action to satisfy punter appetite, the availability of these products, at any time of day, went some way to filling the void. Alongside this, many operators ramped up their marketing associated with these products. As live sporting action returns, it’s safe to assume that the revenue spikes that both esports and virtual sports have seen will return to somewhere near their pre-Covid levels, albeit maybe not all the way down to those levels now that that the products have been introduced to a wider group of customers and their availability has been demonstrated.Given the industry’s focus on esports and virtual sports, we at Bookies Matrix thought it was a good time to delve a little deeper into how these products were being used, as well as analysing the global supply chain. We have collected product and supplier information for every one of the 994 brands that we monitor within Bookies Matrix and have made this data available to our subscribers. In this article we provide a high-level summary of the data that we have captured for virtual sports. As stated above, we currently monitor just shy of 1000 unique legal and regulated online sportsbetting brands. Many of those brands operate across multiple jurisdictions, sometimes with different products and suppliers across those regions. Therefore, within this article, we will use unique websites/URLs as our sample, which stands at 1,235.Of those 1,235 sites, approximately 50% (604 sites) offer betting on virtual sports or racing of some kind, with approximately 60% of jurisdictions (73 of the 120 that we track) having at least one online licensee that offers the product. The main sports covered will be of no surprise to most, with soccer, greyhound racing and horseracing topping the charts – the dogs (519) beating the horses (518) by a whisker! AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to LinkedInLinkedInShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitter Tags: Video Gaming Sports betting !function(e,i,n,s){var t=”InfogramEmbeds”,d=e.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(“script”);o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=”https://e.infogram.com/js/dist/embed-loader-min.js”,d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,”infogram-async”);Here we see Golden Race and Leap Gaming servicing the highest proportion of tier 1 and 2 operators (based on market share within the operator’s jurisdiction). Inspired and Global Bet’s tier 3 segments are inflated partially due to the high number of Italian tier 3 brands serviced through a small number of sportsbook platforms. Finally, we looked at an area that caused us some surprise – the use of multiple suppliers by single operators. Our assumption was that the majority of operators would use a single supplier with a minority using a wider range. In fact, the global average we found to be 1.63 suppliers (note, this refers to game developers, not delivery/commercial partners).Across Africa, the average number of suppliers is 1.98, with some sites having as many as six separate suppliers’ games all competing side by side.We believe that this use of multiple suppliers gives opportunity for new providers to join the market over the next few years, especially if they have unique sports or features to offer.Looking forward, we will continue to track this and similar data to better understand global and regional trends around these products.Bookies Matrix is a new and exhaustive directory of all licensed sportsbetting operators in the world, providing a range of information about each brand including their licenses held, their relative size in each jurisdiction, their platform, data, odds, streaming, virtuals providers, plus details of their products, including sports and margins offered. The service updates continuously with changes such as new market entrants, lapsed licenses, product launches, as well as when new jurisdictions move online. As well as providing clients with access to data and analysis, Bookies Matrix will take requests for specific research projects that are relevant to individual clients. The British & Irish Lions avoid embarassment in tour opener

first_imgSunday May 31, 2009 The British & Irish Lions avoid embarassment in tour opener The British & Irish Lions stumbled to victory in their opening tour match against a scratch side of second division players, known as the Royal XV. The 37-25 win flattered the tourists as they were made to work hard at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.Ronan OGara notched up 22 points as the Lions fought back after being 18-3 down to the side that is made up of Vodacom Cup players comprising five different teams. Eigthman Jonathan Mokoena and scrumhalf Sarel Pretorious in particular showed their quality for the home side. After an awful start to the match that lacked precision and composure, with Munsterman Keith Earls in particular having a shocker, the Lions battled back and showed their experience to regain the lead with four minutes remaining.OGara added to his seven from seven kicks as he scored a try on the final whistle, taking the winning margin to a flattering 12 points. It was a wake up call of note as the Lions showed nerves and rustiness, lacking execution and making numerous errors against a side that on paper, is by far the weakest that theyll face on tour.Lee Byrne was the most impressive Lion on the day, with Jamie Roberts looking imposing and captain Paul OConnell leading from the front, mainly in the second half.Former England captain Phil Vickery sees this as a wake up call.“We could have easily lost that game. The guys showed a lot of guts and courage to stick in there. I think it is a good kick up the backside, which you need. The reality of what faces us on this tour is staring at us.The British & Irish Lions next match is against the Golden Lions in Johannesburg on Wednesday. They’ll be up against a stronger side than the Royal XV, so the Lions will look to find cohesion and iron out the nerves that we saw on Saturday. The festival takes place on the streets which will be closed during the festival. When the date of festival comes near, neighbors get together on the street to discuss repair of lanterns and other matters, sometimes ending up on drinking party. Habitants of this district have been using streets as part of living space, and the idea of “private road” take on this tradition.Save this picture!© Toshiyuki YANOOn the first floor, garage, dining/ kitchen, living room, and earthen floor are located, all of which are accessible from the private road through wide opening. When a car enthusiast friend visits by car, the owner can go out from garage, usher the car inside and start car talks. In Niigata, a region of much rain and less sunshine, people tend to spend time indoor, and the sunroom serves as open quasi-outdoor space under high, big roof. It is a sunny space where laundry is hung to dry, children play or it serves for other purposes. Abundant sunshine in sunroom is sent to bathroom through fanlight. The bedroom and guest room are placed near eaves where the ceilings are lower and more cozy.Save this picture!© Toshiyuki YANOThe frontal road of the house is legally on the west side, but using the private road in the premises as frontal road, the house has quasi-southern exposure and abundant sunlight. Koreans reject U.S. efforts ‘to overthrow our system’

first_imgOnce again, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has refused to be intimidated by the U.S. imperialist government and its threats to the DPRK’s sovereignty and socialist system. After the U.S. State Department, headed by notorious right-winger Mike Pompeo, issued a statement on “Supporting Freedom in North Korea,” the DPRK Foreign Ministry responded May 11 with a press release castigating the U.S. for “turning its back on the June 12 [2018] DPRK-U.S. joint statement committing to establish new bilateral relations.” That joint statement was issued after an historic summit between Donald Trump and the DPRK’s Kim Jong Un. The north Korean release concludes that the State Department is not only obstructing any attempts to improve relations, but that the “American ulterior intention” is “to overthrow our system.”For a while, the current U.S. president appeared to be softening the hostile attitude of the U.S. ruling class toward the northern half of Korea. But when Trump met with Kim Jong Un and shook his hand, it was only a gesture — one that Trump’s two most influential advisers on foreign affairs, war hawks John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, immediately overruled.U.S. unable to turn back Korean RevolutionThe hostility of the world’s biggest imperialist power toward the DPRK has prevailed since that country’s establishment in 1948. Even before that, at the end of World War II, where the masses had been struggling against Japanese colonial rule, Washington and Wall Street were determined to prevent a revolution in Korea. The forces led by Kim Il Sung liberated the north and eventually began a process of socialist construction there, while U.S. troops occupied the south and installed a series of right-wing governments. The refusal of the U.S. to accept the great and popular Korean socialist revolution, which had begun in the struggle against Japanese imperialism, led to the horrendous imperialist war of 1950-53. The U.S., using the cloak of the United Nations, launched one of the most uneven and ferocious military assaults the world has ever seen. From 1950 to 1953, U.S. planes bombed every structure in north Korea over one story. Millions were killed. Yet the Korean people would not bow down. The war ended in a stalemate with Korea divided; and ever since then, the U.S. has refused to sign a peace treaty with the DPRK. While the north built up an independent socialist economy, the south remains saddled with U.S. military occupation. The largest overseas U.S. military base in the world, Camp Humphreys, is in south Korea. It exists to prevent a rapprochement between the south and the north. That the majority of Koreans fervently want such a rapprochement was made clear to the world last year when a joint north-south delegation received an ecstatic welcome at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, south Korea. The only person not cheering the joint north-south athletic cooperation was U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who could be seen in news clips slumping down in his seat as south Koreans around him jumped to their feet, applauding the delegation. The rising progressive movement in the United States should embrace the desire of the Korean people to end the state of war that still exists between Washington and the DPRK and push to end U.S. occupation of the south, which has so cruelly separated Korean families for almost 75 years.FacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmailPrintMoreShare thisFacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmailPrintMoreShare thislast_img read more

The complaint she filed with the prosecutor’s office after her abduction on 23 October must be addressed. It is unacceptable that she has been given no protection. We undertake to help pay for protection, if need be.”Reporters Without Borders is also very worried about the primaries being held by on 18 November by various political parties (including the Freedom and Foundation Party led by Manuel Zelaya, the president ousted by the 2009 coup), which will be the first step in a long process culminating in a presidential election in November 2013.“ Violence and threats are already taking place and the media coverage of this long election process will require more vigilance than ever in defence of those who risk their safety to report what is going on.” Reporters Without Borders said.Karla Zelaya has been getting messages warning her that she is going to die soon ever since her arrest on 21 August during a crackdown on civil society groups and human rights defenders in various parts of the country including Aguán, a northern region under military control. She told Reporters Without Borders that, a week after her three-hour abduction in Tegucigalpa on 23 October, an unidentified person called her sister’s mobile into order to give her a one-week ultimatum to stop being MUCA’s spokespersonBefore that, on 20 September, she was told: “You and your friends are going to die, and I am going to start with you.” This was two days before the fatal shooting of Antonio Trejo, a lawyer who defended peasant communities in the Aguán region, and four days before human rights prosecutor Eduardo Diaz’s murder.Police and judicial investigations into the many murders and attempted murders of journalists rarely make any progress and, even when they do, there is no guarantee that the target will be out of danger.Selvín Martínez, JBN television’s correspondent in the northwestern department of Cortés, was the target of two murder attempts in April and June, and he and his family continue to receive death threats from Joaquín Molina Andrade, the man who is being held for the second murder attempt. The Committee for Free Expression (C-Libre), a Reporters Without Borders partner organization, reports that Martínez still fears for his safety although he is receiving protection. Finally, Reporters Without Borders calls on the judicial authorities to initiate proceedings against Roosevelt Avilés, the mayor of Talanga (in the central department of Morazán), for two flagrant cases of censorship of media that criticized him.In one case he suspended Telecentro TV’s local operations. In the other, he bought a large number of copies of an issue of the newspaper El Heraldo containing a critical article. According to some sources, he has closed or excluded seven broadcast media in the past six years. Barnard murder: Teens planned to rob male before picking Tessa Majors, suspect said, per police testimony

first_imgiStock(NEW YORK) — A 13-year-old charged in the killing of 18-year-old Barnard College freshman Tessa Majors told detectives he saw one of his companions stab the college student with a red-handled knife, according to police testimony. The 13-year-old described the attack as a “stabbing, poking motion,” according to police testimony at the teen’s court appearance Tuesday.Majors was stabbed to death on Dec. 11 in upper Manhattan’s Morningside Park, just off the campus of Columbia University, which sits next to Barnard.Police testified Tuesday that the 13-year-old and two others intended to rob Majors. The suspects allegedly had their sights set on another victim, a male, but backed out and grabbed Majors from behind and removed a plastic bag from her pocket, police said. The 13-year-old said he heard Majors call for help and refused to give up any property, according to the testimony. The 13-year-old boy was arrested Friday and charged with murder, robbery and weapons possession. He appeared Tuesday in family court where the judge found reasonable cause to hold him in custody.Police are still searching for another suspect in the stabbing. A 14-year-old was on his way to turn himself in Monday night when he bolted from the car while it was stopped at an intersection, according to police sources.Police believe the 14-year-old may have signs of a bite mark from the struggle with Majors.Police have now identified all three suspects in the Barnard freshman’s murder: the 13-year-old, the wanted 14-year-old who allegedly fled from the car Monday night, and a 14-year-old who was questioned and released without charges.Majors, who was from Charlottesville, Virginia, was a “budding journalist” and musician who was “endlessly creative,” Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer said at a vigil on Sunday.“Tessa must have been extraordinary,” added Lisa Carnoy, co-chair of the Columbia University Board of Trustees. “Feminist, iconoclast, musician, friend. I want to know more about Tess. Together we will, we must, find an enduring way to remember and honor her.”Copyright © 2019, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.last_img read more
